Dear Houston Elementary Families,

I can't believe we are entering March in just a few days, and with it comes a season of growth — both academically and personally for our students. This time of year is always special because we begin to see just how much our Eagles have learned, matured, and risen to expectations since August.

As we enter the final stretch before state assessments, our focus remains clear: strong instruction, student ownership, and consistent attendance. Every day matters. When students are present and engaged, they grow — and so does our campus.

We are continuing to:

• Strengthen reading and math instruction across all grade levels

• Provide targeted small group support for students who need it

• Encourage students to show their work and explain their thinking

• Celebrate growth, effort, and perseverance

Families, your partnership is critical right now. You can support your child by:

• Ensuring daily attendance and on-time arrival

• Encouraging nightly reading

• Asking your child to explain what they are learning (teaching it back builds confidence!)

• Reinforcing the importance of doing their very best on every assignment

We know this year has required resilience from our entire community. Construction, new systems, higher expectations — and through it all, our students and staff continue to rise. I am proud of the progress we are making together.

At Houston, we believe in growth. We believe in accountability. And most importantly, we believe in our children.
